 OVERLORD

By TODD_GOSS - Dec. 31, 1969

The fort measures just short of 38 inches overall including the base. It took approximately 25 hours to build, paint and decorate. I have no idea how many blocks were used in the construction.Placing the fort on a rocky hill helped achieve a sense of greater size, it also gave me a chance to intermix Hirst Arts design elements with traditional terrain materials. You may notice some of the fieldstone blocks actually span down into the rock walls. I really like the way the project turned out, in the design you will find a few new uses for blocks and some decorative elements but nothing to over the top. Unfortunately, as is often the case, this fort looks better in person than it appears in the pics. Molds used were the wooden plank mold, for the bridge and rampart flooring. Fieldstone and fieldstone accessory molds for most of the structure. A few decorative elements from the dragons teeth mold were used, and of course some basic blocks, and stairs from the prison tower mold. If you have any questions on how I did something or don’t recognize one of the blocks used, email me and I’ll be glade to answer any questions.
