 Steel Titan

By BRIGUY385 - Dec. 31, 1969

Molds used in construction:

Dragon's Inn # 51
Fieldstone wall # 70
Fieldstone Accessory # 71
Dragonsteeth # 80
Wizards Tower # 50
Flagstone Floor # 260

Other Pieces used:

Four nibs for the gun nozzles
Plastic picnic knife for the Chainsaw

Dimensions:

8 3/4" high by 6" by 3"

Construction:

Last Hadd I meant to enter this bad boy but had some technical issues, so here he is, even hungrier and meaner for the prize. The Dragons Inn and Dragons teeth molds supply most of the blocks needed for his construction.
My main goal is dungeon building, so I put the titan on a flagstone base, envisioning him asa huge steam powered construct, hence the rear access hatch.
The feet and legs are made up of blocks from the F.S. accessory and Dragonsteeth molds. Most of the Blocks used can be picked out by looking closely at the model, so I won't go into too much detail.
There were a few places where I had to sand the blocks, mostly the right arm and the head. I also had to cut the rune column in half for the back fuel tanks, and the exhaust thrusters, which are two torches glued back to back with the tips cut off.
The cannon arm is just four smooth column pieces glued to regular blocks. The barrell nibs were made by using a small nut driver and pushing it into sculpty to make the rivit looking pcs. The saw on the other arm is made from a plastic picnic knife.

Painting:

I wasen't sure how this was going to turn out, using bricks meant for buildings, on a machine. But I like the hammered metal effect created by the drybrushing. If I had built him after the Station Builder or Skematic Pyramid had come out, he might have looked a bit different, but maybe I could build some more ; )

THANKS FOR LOOKING

very original; even though the surprise is spoilt by this project being around for a couple of months...

this is great, i got a load of titans and i think if GW see this they might get worried - it's that good.

picnic knife is a good touch, the paint job effectively transforms this into a machine, you wouldn't guess if you didn't know what the pieces are!

kskyhappy - the impossible just takes a little longer
