Other materials used
pink insulating sheathing for the pedestal base (square part)
Great Stuff insulation foam in a can for filler for the tower.
great care was taken to control the expanding foam
the arrow slits inside the tower were sealed with flat blocks painted black so the foam did not escape
Golden's liquid acrylics in
white
black
cyan
small amounts of red, silver and gold vallejo paints

Well, what you've said about the removable top convinced me that the only potential 'flaw' really isn't a flaw. Good work.

Thanks for the taking the time to comment :)

I had thoughts about clumsy friends (and children) too. One of the bright ideas of my build is that the chest part with the lid is removable so you could set it on a coffee table to play or just remove the lid and place it on a dining table to play. I also like that I can store my chess pieces inside or anything else I would like to hide.

Great idea on the pedestal Mal! I keep looking at it wondering how my guys would get to that front door...lol. Very innovative idea. Keep up the great work!

Very nice but I worry about the practicality a plaster tower support raising it up. I have clumsy friends that I couldn't trust to play chess on this.

If it tips over, that's a lot of great work that could be ruined.

Maybe have your friends sign a waiver saying that if they bust it you get to beat on them?
