By YRM - Dec. 31, 1969 BUILDING HISTORY:This fountain has sat in the center of the main business district of Dagger Falls for a few decades. It was dedicated to a selfless cleric of Lathander after he passed on. The structure was designed to compliment the arches and viewpoints of buildings already in the town. MOLDS USED: Mold #43 - Gothic Panel Accessories Mold #61 - Turret Instead of using one fishing line strand, as Bruce demonstrates, I used 4-5 to create a "pour" effect not seen on many fountains. The strands come together where they hit the water and I used woodland scenics real water to create some depth to the distortion where it hits the water. I poured one mixing of Envirotex Lite, tinted with blue food dye, then I added some effects of the water disturbing below the water's surface when the envirolite had dried. After that, I poured more Envirotex Lite and added the fishing line. I also poured the Envirolite into the top part and actually let it run down the lines somewhat. Then, I thickened the pours a bit with Real Water and did another light pouring of Envirotex. I think the effect looks like a realistic pour, rather than just a stream, and it may be a useful reference (although I'm sure I'm not the only one to have done it). The figure on top is a Reaper Miniature, and I kept the whole structure simple and clean, as you should be able to see it from various vantage points in the town. Of all my entries, this would be an entry which a new hobbiest could just grab two molds and build with minimal expense, although, some of the techniques with the water could be considered fairly tricky.
