 Necron Fort

By STEPHAN - Dec. 31, 1969

The Necron fort is a gothic egyptian hybrid structure that was designed to be as modular as possible. I played around with combining these two lines for a while and then came up with this.

The base structure is an almost purely egyptian fort, painted differently it could easily go with my egyptian line of models. Maybe the gothic adornments would look strange but... :-)

There are several parts that can be placed at different places of the base structure, some small obelisks (not entirely HA I confess), gothic spires and a large obelisk. Originally I planned to make some Necron gun pieces, but time was short, as usual. To be honest, I am happy that I finished the structure and managed to at least apply the most basic paint job. I wish I had more time to apply more details, but this has be do for now. (Then there is the story of me getting my digital camera from the friend I gave it to at the last minutes of daylight... why does it always have to be that close :-)

The piece is placed on my new lava terrain, I guess its something like the premiere for the terrain, too... :-) The structure is not exclusively meant to be Necron, originally it was meant to resemble the keep of some demon lord native to this hellish place.

I like your combination of the different "genre" of blocks to make a hybrid work. It does feel very dark and menacing to the viewer! It also fits in nicely with your lava terrain.

Innovative combination of Egyptian and Gothic pieces. Great looking model, and the lava terrain is also very effective.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there ;-)

Very cool fort, all the elements go together well. The lava is striking also.

Another great build Stephen, very well executed - good work to have all of those obelisks perfectly verticle. I particularly like the tapered platforms - nice use of these blocks

anything that has interchangable pieces commands respect, especially when they are so well hidden.

this is a great piece of scenery, well thought out and executed- it fits in well with your gaming table too

I've always associated the Skematic molds with the Necrons. This is a nice change up. The availability of firing positions is an important aspect for the gamer and they look to be well placed. A very nice look!

I'd have liked to see a few more closeup shots, but, this is superb. Is there an interior? It looks like there could be.

A great addition to any tabletop.

Very nice looking model. I really like how you made pieces interchangeable to give it a different feel depending on the situation. The obelisks look great! Great work on this one.
