 Sylvanian Crypt

By TWISTED - Dec. 31, 1969

In the cursed land of Sylvania, just south of the dark moor, stands the Castle Drakenhof residents of the noble Count Draken aka The Red Dragon. The count has crypt scattered though out the land so he and his swarm of Vampire bats, can rest during the sun cured hours. This crypt is the one he used after his trumph at the great battle of black field just in the north tip of Goul wood.

This build was in spired by Galileo Dragon's Prison on ezboards. It was a intesting piece in a restricted area. So it set me thinking. I stared with a CD and as always when i build, a lose idea of what i want to achieve. (A crypt with bell tower on a cd). Because of the limited size i player around with the base trying different shapes until i was happy with what you see. I wanted you use the pillar from Ruined Tower Mold #65 because i like the markings up the side. I then had to work out how big the wide the tower was going to be and the pitch of the roof. I use a high pitch to the roof to add height to the front so the tower didn’t look to tall. Then a started the the tower having in mind I want a large window in the back. The top of the tower was easy because i wanted to use the Small Brick Mold #250 and have it open so you can see the bell. I finished the build off with Dragon's Teeth Accessory Mold #80 and game workshop shields.

MOLDS USED:
Gothic Dungeon Accessories Mold #42
Gothic Panel Accessories Mold #43
Gothic Dungeon Builder #45
Gothic Church Mold #54
Bell Tower Mold #55
Tomb Mold #56
Ruined Tower Mold #65
Dragon's Teeth Accessory Mold #80
Gothic Floor Tiles Mold #205
Clay Tile Roof Mold #230
Small Brick Mold #250

Excellent use of decorative features, highly deatiled but it all seems to work. I don't think I have seen the dragons tooth pieces used so well before. Its amazing how a paint job can really assist in blending architectural elements together and you have done agreat job of it. I really like the paint job to boot - excellent subtlely in the colours.

Excellent and unusual design accentuated by lots of little details and highlighted by the beautiful clean paintwork. A hell of a lot of model crammed into a small space - love it.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there ;-)

Very nice. You put a lot of stuff into such a small tower, yet to me it doesn't look overdone. All the detail makes it fun to look at and I'm afraid if I don't check every picture I'll miss something. I liked what you did with the dragon's teeth pieces. I'm gonna have to borrow that idea. First rate!

Love the style. Great design.

Great presentation that allows us to appreciate the design.

The photoshopped atmosphere shot really shows off how close this model is to functioning as a hollywood style prop.

You had to be thrilled with this entry, and I was thrilled to get to look at it.

I agree this is a great design. I think it is a wonderful use of imagination and you have pulled it off well. The only bit of constructive criticism I might give is having straighter lines on some of the pieces. i think we all suffer from that to some degree or other though. Overall this is a great project! Great job.

This model is fantastic, the design is really top notch. This model should be the post child of what HADD is all about.
