 Fighters and Bomber

By DUKEDREAL - Dec. 31, 1969

Fighters and Bombers
Dimensions:
Fighter: 2 ¼ inches tall by 6 ½ inches long by 4 inches wide
Heavy Fighter: 2 ¾ inches tall by 6 ¼ inches long by 4½ inches wide
Bomber: 2 ¾ inches tall by 8½ inches long by 4½ inches wide

Molds Used:
Station Builder Mold #300, Starship Wall Mold #301

Construction:
This work was to create a set of Space Fighters and Bomber using the station builder mold. The Fighters and Bomber are made without using “supports” from non-mold items. The idea was to create a unique thing with the molds.

Fluff:
The Space Fighters were designed for stealth operations, hence the off gray paint jobs. Each ship has its own function in combat. The fighter is quick and maneuverable but has a shorter reach. The heavy fighter is more rugged and has a longer reach distance. The bomber maybe retrofitted to act as a long-range fighter or as a shorter-range bomber.

Good use of the new sci-fi blocks to create these - but I'm not convinced that the grey paint job shows the models at their best.

The hulls on these were a little too busy for my tastes. However, it is a very innovative use of the blocks. Great little build.
