The Citadel has been a labour of love for 11 months now. I originally wanted a fortress wall for around the old "Collonade" building (a previous entry to HADD), so I started on this beast...
From early on, I knew I wanted the building to be big. I wanted it to dominate the end of the game table. Well, I certainly managed to achieve that. It's 4' wide, 2' deep and 2' high and weighs somewhere between 50 and 60 KG's.
I mainly used the Basic Gothic Mold and the Octagonal Tower molds for the fortress walls. Additional pieces were sourced from many other Gothic molds. The floor tiles are from the Cracked Floor Tile mold.
Would I embark on a project like this again? No way! Well...perhaps... ;)

As nice and impressive as this build is, I have mixed feelings.
The overall is quite spectacular, but for the HADD it would be wrong to judge it with the central building, as that part has been entered in the HADD before (HADD6 large, Imperial Colonnade). Without the central building, it just lacks the oompf.. Sorry for such a negative sounding comment. I applaude you for completing such a MASSIVE project, but vote-wise and such.. I just can't vote for this, since I cannot bring myself to take the colonnade part into consideration on why it should deserve my vote.
Sorry.

It is hard to imagine how big this entry actually is. It is very well done and a great paint job. I can't imagine casting all those blocks. I'm sure you must make your own molds and cast in sections. something I have yet to try. Really nice job.

I, like others, have followed this build since you started posting shots of it. It is a fantastic piece that I'm sure dominates your game table.
I'd love to say I'm going to copy this piece, but I don't think I could find a place to store it and I can't afford the doctor bill once I threw out my back trying to lift it. :)

Mammoth and dominating in scale! The finishing is impressive which adds to the dark flavour of the building. I would love to be able to see details within the vehicle bays, passages in walls and so forth if these exist. I like the change in levels on the walls which add more character to a fairly coventional buils.

Very nice monster build....I love the Nazi inspired pendants. Ive been watching you build for as long as you have been posting on the forums and I want to let you know that I appreciate your posting there on a regular basis. Great storage facility for your troops.....and an A+ from me.

Two things strike me about this building: the atmosphere and the size. It really looks like the archetype of the Space Marines buildings.
What else can I say? It's a success.
