Construction
The idea behind building this mark II version was to correct some major flaws I saw in the first version. First in the movies Old Bens is located up on a hill top. Also in one of the books it shows a detailed basement. Also the roof on the mark II version is more refined and helps to unify the structure with the other Star Wars themed structures that I have built.
The walls of the hill are made from various molds from Woodland Scenics to create a real rock face surface for the base.

Fluff

Nice job. I really like your groundwork details. Looks very natural and desert like. Nice build good detail inside.

Impressive to see how much you improved your previous model. This one perfectly integrates with your more recent Star Wars buildings. I like the idea of the basement (although thinking that Ben would need a treadmill to keep in shape is a shame ;-) ).

The assembly could have been perfected, but the painting is - as usual - impressive.

An interesting re-think on your earlier version. As usual, you have come up with some very innovative uses for the blocks - the treadmill made me smile. :-)
