  • Abstract :  The Sisters of the Blade navigate across one of the 14 rope bridges. Most were just single bridges, but this one is combination of three bridges. It was a bit of a challenge, but it came out very cool.

    The Round Problem

  • Abstract :  A basic concept in my design is to have the walls in the middle of a square. This is to give space for the minis to move around, and give clear 5 foot space markings for the players to figure out their tactical moves without arguments. ( I always go for more fun, less angst )

    However, when trying to make round pieces with my new molds, I am finding that I need to pull the walls in, in order to have them line up with straight walls.

    Here is a shot of my initial design. I am going to have to sand down one of the ends of the walls a bit, but overall I think it works pretty good. The plan is to have 90 degree arc sections, That way they can be assembled in a large variety of ways.

    There are some things I am doing differently with my new design. I do not like the doors in this one. They do not give enough space for the doors cast with the accessory molds.

    I also don't know if I want to keep the cross corners this design requires.

  • Abstract :  This is a set up of about 3/4 of what I have currently finished. All of this is done with regular plaster. I have found that the regular plaster is very likely to chip, and it cost me more per pound to buy then the dental plaster. The dental plaster has a much larger start up cost.

    I am beginning to cast again, this time with dental plaster. I am contemplating a different scheme with how to do the corners. Any suggestions are welcome.

    My goal with the modularity is to be able to reproduce almost any dungeon that a module writer can dream up. I would be ok with getting 80-90% without tweaking. =]

  • Abstract :  A top view of a sample room with the two corner schemes I have been experimenting with.

    I am not happy with either scheme, because I feel there are too many trade offs.
    1) You need ALOT of corners
    2) The crosses, and block ends are time consuming to create. I would prefer something that looks more streamlined and has less effort.

    Was using two different types of corners, either the full block corners (which also work well as columns), or the 'cross' style corners.
