Modelling Centre
Fellow casters and modellers. I am attempting to create, host and maintain a database of Hirst Arts related information and guides, which will all be freely available from this website.
This will be for the public to submit their hints, tips, how-tos, drawing plans and even uses for blocks that no one else has thought of, to help or just give ideas to other users of Castlemolds products.
Although Bruce has taken time to help me develop and formulate the ideas and underlying framework of what the project should cover, in his own words "this will be my baby", so I'm going to be your contact for the project, just as Scott is for the HADD. I will endeavor to answer all comments, problems, and questions on Hirst Arts or any hobby related topic, and where impossible or inappropriate, will pass them on to Bruce.
If you've got a plan for a space station made out of the pyramid and station builder molds, or perhaps some coloured artwork that can be printed out to make more doors and windows, please submit it. Really I'm looking for anything that can be of use to help others. If you don't have a website to host pictures yourself, then I have happily agreed with Bruce, to host them for you, along with the articles and design plans, so that interested parties have a one-stop-shop for all their Hirst Arts question and answer needs.
Featured Artists - Each week one lucky person will get to have their name in lights! Yes, that’s right, I'll be asking you all to submit photos and descriptions of your projects and constructions and each week the lucky one picked will be interviewed in-depth about their piece!
All I ask is you take at least three photographs of the project two during construction and one of the finished piece. You can submit as many others as you like, but must have one photograph of the finished piece as the minimum requirement. In addition, I'd appreciate it if you to keep a record of how it was constructed, materials, tools, techniques and how much it cost to build. If you've been really good and designed or sketched plans for it, they too will be featured, but if you haven't, I will produce a set of blueprints for the structure based on your drawings, photographs and notes (which is why I want it as detailed as possible).
There are no other minimum requirements, except having a valid email address to contact you with, so you can use as much or as little time, effort and materials in the construction as you like, but obviously, the better – not necessarily the bigger - will catch my eye and want to make me feature you more!
There are also, no strict entry requirements, such as specified sizes, shapes, genres or costs, and you can send me as many buildings or constructions in one week as you like up until Friday 5.00pm (GMT 0). The featured artist and construction will then be chosen, contacted for more in-depth information and the interview over the weekend, and each Monday the pictures and article will go on display until the following Monday.
As more and more of you submit your constructions, the bigger the database grows, and each construction will be archived for others to see the building in all its glory and use the plans. The constructions don't have to be completely made from Hirst Arts' products, but it does have to relate to the hobby of scale building, modelling or miniatures. So you can contribute buildings or constructions in any scale, material or genre.
Please note: I do not want to complete with the very successful HADD competition, run by Scott at www.voidgamers.com, which currently runs twice yearly. The above feature will therefore, NOT be run for the month preceeding either of the two HADDs so as not to clash or cause problems for those modellers who wish to enter the competition.
Regards - Elliott

Oh Elliot, you always were so organized!!! I've missed you. As for me and my castles, they have fallen into disrepair, having been abandoned in favor of the Great Exodus of '04, when I and a small but loyal band of followers left the comparative ease cushy imprisonment to venture out into the Great Unknown, which has revealed many treasures, many trials.
However, I still possess a microwave, molds (oh Blackwolf - besides missing you terribly, I miss my molds !?!?!?), a surfeit of plaster, and an enduring love of ancient architecture.
Yours indefinitely, Isa of GE /b>
[Used to be Isa of the Microwaves, but Gond, the sneaky bugger, caught the electromagnetic patent in flux and snapped it up (for the good of the Church, of course) and it's now Gond's Electrocutables. He is (ir)responsible for the introduction the Wonderhome High Frequency (WHF)(in excess of 300 GHz) signals. The effectively opaque results of such a high frequency and the resulting transparent atmosphere in the so-called infrared and optical Window frequency ranges has made WHF much in demand by wizardly tech-junkies and the architectural connoisseur alike, providing Wonderfully High revenues (although due to a premature beta release of WHF licences, some revenues will become Wonderfully High reimbursements as the much vaunted optical Windows were prone to high tech Phishing, resulting in the identity theft of two wizards, a liche and - of all things - a denizen of Zhentil Keep. The hotfix for that vulnerability has subsequently been made available to all licencees, and Gond fined an undisclosed amount (ok, ok, it was a nominal 10 electrum) for yet another premature (albeit brilliant) brainchild.]
