I purchased some molds from Bruce about a year ago, and I recently received another order of 5 (I now have ten molds), but I hadn't yet built anything! I finally decided to get off mu tush, and try my hand at a ruined building for 40k.

I used 3/16" hardboard for a base (I can't seem to find 1/4" MDF anywhere), and excalibur for most of the blocks. You'll note a few white blocks where I used plain Plaster of Paris just to try out, before I realized they were just too brittle for a gaming board. (I figured it would be OK to use a few here and there, the casts were so nice it just seemed wrong to simply throw them away)

For the "techno-gothic" look of 40k, I also wanted to added some I-beams and patterned plasticard sheets from Plastruct.

The building turned out to be a little heavier than I expected. This makes me wonder if larger buildings would be practical using Excalibur, or if I should try casting in resin (which I understand would be rather expensive).
