 Merchant's House

By ISA - Dec. 31, 1969

The house itself is built mostly from the Small Brick mold, with the door from the Dragon Accessories and half a staircase from the Prison mold. I used the small brick that looks like several bricks on end (soldiers instead of sailors, I think) for a decorative touch. There's a fieldstone fence around the yard that encloses a small kitchen garden and some geese.

The chimney is actually hollow and I can put a small incense cone in the fireplace and light it.

All the wood trim (made from wooden coffee stir-stix) is laid over the brickwork. On the upper floor, the bricks are covered in acrylic gesso to simulate limewashed wattle and daub infill.

The "thatched" roof is a direct theft - oops, compliment - to Ryan Skow, I believe. Only instead of towels, I used a very fine velour, appropriate to the scale of the Merchant House.
