Setting Sail

By DENNIS_BRYSON - Dec. 31, 1969

The Boat.
Molds Required:
#220 Wood Plank Mold
Measurement:
Small at 9x3x2 14"(without mast) or 9x3x7 19"(with)
Description:
Ok, this was a project that I did just to see if I could make one, I built a form in the shape of the hull and started casting the planks as normal, after scraping, I bent the mold over the form and taped it down, after it was dry (I gave it an extra 30mins to dry) I carefully removed the mold and had the curved planks the shape I needed them.
When I had enough planks to make it all, I put it together and this model required a lot of sanding, especially around the tops sides where the planks were to high.

The mast is a broken paintbrush and a kebab stick, some string and a tissue make up the rigging and sail.
Painting was as normal, with a chocolate brown undercoat, followed by chestnut brown, Orange then cream.

The water effect is clear cellophane glued onto a wooden board painted blue.
