The wind mill is mounted on a foam base with HA stairs going down to ground level. Round field stone blocks were used to make the base of the building. Straight field stone blocks were added to the front to form the entry, graced by a HA door also from the fieldstone mold. The wood shingle mold was used for the entryways roof. For the decorative trim on the roof peek I used the step builder casting from the wood plank mold, glueing it upside down. A cone armature was used for the middle section. I cut up field stone blocks and glued these small individual stones to the armature. For verity I also glued on some bigger rocks cast from a Wood land scenics rock mold. Two HA fieldstone windows were also added. A watered down mix of dry wall mud was used to fill in the gaps between the stones. For the top the wood plank mold was used. An orbital sander and exato knife were used to get the proper angle for the planks that needed to be tapered. The wood shingle mold was used for the roof which peeks out at 18 inches high. The sails were made from dowel rods and cotton fabric. They were painted with ink washes and paint to give them an aged look.
