 Slave I

By DUKEDREAL - Dec. 31, 1969

Medium Entries

Slave I
Dimensions:
4 inches tall by 6 inches long by 6 inches wide

Molds Used:
4" Circular Tower Mold #52, Turret Mold #61, Station Builder Mold #300, Starship Wall Mold #301, Cargo Bay Accessory Mold #302, Med Lab Accessory Mold #303

Construction:
The ship is made of pieces of the station builder mold pinned and glued together so as not to need “external” supports to hold it all together. The rounded parts of the ship were cast from the station builder mold and then sanded down with an orbital hand held sander. The fine grain of the plaster has ruined the sander! The 4” tower walls were used for the main body of the ship and then sanded down to remove all texture. The command chairs are from some hobby store online. The only part that is not from a mold are the struts holding the landing pads on. For these ¼ round wooden dowels were used. The guns are also from Games Workshop from the Tau tank, but I added bits of plastic rods to add extra uniqueness to them. The guns also rotate!

Fluff:
Slave I, first piloted by Jango Fett then his son/clone Bobba. The ship has now found its way into the hands of Bobba’s biological son Janko Fett.
