 Multi-purpose Dungeon room

By NUMBAT - Dec. 31, 1969

Multi-purpose dungeon room

3.75 inch high x 6 inch wide x 5 inch deep

Molds:
Fieldstone #70
Fieldstone Accessories #71
Fieldstone Bridge #74
Gothic Additional #44
Small brick #250
Flagstone Floor #260
Cracked Floor tiles #203
Floor Tile #201
Gothic Floor #205

Main components (cast in hydrocal tinted with Quikrete buff colorant):

Basic room is made with 1 inch walls constructed using back-to-back flagstone floor tiles. I used this odd construction because it allowed me to make ‘secret entrances’ and changeable room features. Stagger floor tiles by one half, using a half floor tile to start one side of the wall. I sanded the edges of openings and removable sections to get a loose fit.

Main entrance has a decorative arch from the Acessories mold #71 with a custom piece molded from a cap nut (as seen on Hirst webpage). Two side openings can be filled by wall sections, decorative doorways or an altar (made from small bricks #250, head from Gothic Additional #44). The large opening in the back has a removable wall section.

Two supports can hold the room 3 inches off the table surface. This provides room for a lower dungeon level. Access to lower level through the removable center floor section (Floor tile 201 & Gothic floor #205).

Painted with Delta craft paint. Washed with mixed dirty green to resemble algae or fine moss growth.
