 Hanukkah Menorah

By NUMBAT - Dec. 31, 1969

Hanukkah menorah
5.25 inch high x 7.5 inch wide x 2 inch deep

Molds:
Basic blocks #40
Gothic Additional #44
Floor tiles #201
Cracked Floor tiles #203

Special tools: drill press

Main components (cast in hydrocal):

Base and body of menorah are made from the large smooth arches from the Gothic Additional mold #44. Feet of base are made using the pillar base from the same mold. Decoration on lower front is the arch base, with added sanded base piece for the second layer.

Base for the candle cups uses smooth floor tiles from Mold #203 (I made a mold with 9 smooth tiles).

Candle cups are stacked ¾ inch floor tiles (#201) with a hole drilled in them. I made a mold so that I wouldn’t have to drill every hole.

Painted with Delta craft paint. Washed bronze over all surfaces. Detail using Gold 14K craft paint.
