By HPOSNER - Dec. 31, 1969 Size: 7” height x 34” width x 67” depth. Total 108” Total bricks used approximately 2000. Molds used 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 290, and 291. (All the Egyptians except the decorative floor and the Pyramid molds). Not sure if this should actually be classed as an entry, but I’ll throw it in anyway. It isn’t a single building but a series of small temples linked by walkways and gardens. It’s the way the Egyptians really built from the Middle Kingdom onwards so it makes more sense to do this than a single massive temple. They got over monumental single structure buildings like pyramids by about 2400 BCE. None of the buildings is especially thrilling individually, although with one exception they are all original shapes combining bricks from more than one mold. One of the smaller temples is missing (The Temple of Arsaphes) as I have entered it as a small single building entry. I’m not a modeller but a toy soldier player so apologies for the standard of craftsmanship. I know it's not well built but it works beautifully as a wargaming table. The entire system is built using interchangeable 11” square tiles so I can mix and match to create different size and shape temple complexes. All the roofs come off so figures can fight inside the buildings and all the roads match up between squares. If it was permanently based the first thing I’d do is plaster over all the joins between the squares. It works as a battlefield for LOTR/Wargods of Aegyptus type rules quite well. There are too many buildings and not enough clear space for warhammer/DBM.
