By HPOSNER - Dec. 31, 1969 Temple of Arsaphes (part of the Grand Necropolis of Heracleopolis).Size: 5” height x 6” width x 8” depth. Total 19” Total bricks used 213. Molds used Roof + walls: Mold 93 Floor: Molds 290 and 291 Small Canopic jars, Torches, Inner wall linings, headrest for large statue: Mold 96 Front friezes, benches, large statue: Mold 97 Large Canopic jars, female statues, Arsaphes head gargoyle: Mold 99 The Temple uses the sloping bricks from the Egyptian tower mold (93) for the main construction, and bits and pieces from the other Egyptian molds for decoration. This small temple is part of a larger necropolis complex designed for wargaming, so the roof is built with a usable central well for troops to occupy and defend the temple, and is also lift-off to enable the temple to be entered and the inside fought over. I cut sections of the door casting from mold 96 to give the inside some wall decorations. My primary aim was to make the inside of the temple look reasonably right and not be bare brick, and that part worked well.It could have done with being one tile wider inside for wargaming purposes.
