Abstract : |
This modular scenery was hosted by www.gamestoresindex.com. Thanks! (They are still working on the Beta version and only the Alpha version is up. They told me that if you go to www.gamestoresindex.com/index1.html you can see a better working version of the site)
These four corners are part of a theme I am currently working on and selling on EBAY. They are a grassy covered hill series with rocky spires.
These pieces can be used as a large island in the middle of a terrain board, seperated so that there is a piece in each corner or used on the edges of the board. They have good terrain coverage allowing miniatures to be able to use the cover as a bonus to hide behind from enemy fire.

Blue-Tack Casting!!
|
[ View ]
|
|
Abstract : |
For some unknown reason, the idea of trying to cast Dental Plaster in a Blue-Tack mould, suddenly popped into my head yesterday. Strange!!
Anyway, after thinking about it for a while, I thought it could be a quick, cheap way of doing one-off castings. Depending on my trial cast, the material should be able to be used again and again.
So last night I tried it. I took a Rackham Shield, and pressed a ball of Blue-Tack onto it creating the impression. Carefully removing the shield to avoid any excessive bending or damage to the impression, I then sprayed it with 'Wet Water'. Added a little Dental Plaster - and hey presto - not a bad result.

Abstract : |
This is my first attempt at painting scenery...and taking a picture of it, so any comments (even bad ones) will be most welcome. Its an Armorcast 3"river, with the y section and the swamp...there should be a transition for the swamp, but I need to buy and paint it first. :). There are several more sections, but I didn't like the pictures :). IT had a ton of detail that I didn't notice when I started painting it, especially on the banks.
Highly reccomend the model, it was a blast to paint. I messed up the shoreline many times...some of those rocks have 5 coats of paint on them. The planst were a special problem for me; I'm happy (sort of) with the way they turned out, but have lots of ideas for the next time I try it.
