The Sword of Might painting competition is (or will be) an annual painting competition for people who like to paint Games Workshop miniatures (Warhammer, WH40k, Lord of the Rings) or Reaper Miniatures, but if you make your own miniatures and paint them, then you can enter those too. The contest is FREE, and if enough people join, I will get some cool prizes for those who win. Even so, this is a great way to show off your skills as a painter/sculpter. Just a few rules:

1. Send me at least one photo of your model(s), but more than one would be appreciated.
2. Entries should be sent to jacktwiddy@nc.rr.com with the photo(s), your name, categorie(s) being entered, and the name of the model.
3. Please keep the models decent (no profanity), or they will not be included in the contest judging.
4. Submit YOUR ORIGINAL WORK ONLY! Do not cheat by sending in someone else's work, as this ruins the fun for everyone.
5. Your models need to be fully painted (more than one color).
6. The model base needs to at least be painted over, but fancy bases (like decorated with flock, rocks, etc.) are welcome.
7. You can mount the model on a wood pedestal (like found on http://www.miniaturebases.com/wordpress/ ) but this will not affect your chances of winning (though they look real nice).

If I include prizes, it will be for each categories 1st place only. Speaking of which, here are the categories:

Best Games Workshop Mini
Best Reaper Mini
Best Handmade Mini
Best Sculpted
Best Base
Best Color Scheme

You may enter any categories that you want, but we may enter you in other categories if needed, or if we think you would do well in another category. You can win in an unlimited number of categories, and enter more than one miniature. We will also have a Best Overall category, but we will pick who goes in that category. You can start submitting your minis anytime, but the judging will probably begin in mid/late January, or early February.

Best of luck, Jack Twiddy.
