I've had a few folks asking about facing on a Cylon ship...
Well, the way we have played it, you need to designate one point of the ship (a dot on the mini perhaps) as "front" - but solely for the purpose of matching up with the SSD.
Cylons use gravitic engines, so "front" doesn't mean squat when it comes to movement.
We base out cylons with an arrow indicating direction of movement. The Cylons can use drive to either rotate the ship without changing direction of movement (noted as a +/-R on the plot) or can yaw the ship normally (+/-y) which changes the facing AND direction of movement.
This allows a cylon to bring new missile batteries into line, and can result in a more challenging battle with the cylons - try it...

Used throughout both the First Cylon War and the War of Return, the Hecate freighter was used for moving both ordnance and supplies as well as Tylium. |
