VOID: The Hilian Campaign
The explorers and survey specialists of the Hilian system were interested in the star system mainly for this rich agricultural world which resembled the Human homeworld of Viridia. A lush green world with abundant water and fauna to sustain a large population for many centuries to come. In their rush to catalog the physical and scientific aspects of the Hilian world, the cursory inspections discovered many anomolies amongst the equitorial jungle belt, river beds, and moutainous regions across the planet. A small few xeno-biolgists had discovered a miriad of ancient temple like ruins, most crumbling and empty. They had no time for detailed archeological research or investigations. They simply used these ancient monuments for shelter while researching their true goal of the local plant and animal life. Only recently, as colonization of the more accessable and favorable regions of Hilia were underway, had anyone taken the time to visit or explore these ancient relics. No sooner had Imperial Acheologist, Nicolai Constantus, of Viridia arrived on Hilia than had he heard the strange temples calling to him with their mysterious past, their ruins, and the equally mysterious temple builders. The temples resisted the encrouchment of the surrounding jungle as it had done so for thousands of years. Digging through the undergrowth, Nicolai had discovered evidence of a long dead, and far more advanced civilization\\\\\\\'s presence amongst the ruins. Widespread devistation marked the passage of an ancient conflict which may have been the extinction of the temple builders. These ancient peoples had lived, flourished and died long before the existance of the Tripartate or even the Viridian Federation.
What mysterious technologies lie within those ancient temples? Do objects of wonder and of awsome power lay hidden still awaiting discovery? Since the discovery and cataloging of a few of these sites by Nicolai Constantus, every major Empire has descended upon Hilia in an effort to unearth the mysteries locked within these dark forboding structures and ruins. It is not surprising that bloodshed quickly followed the explorers and treasure seakers as rival factions faught for dominance on the lush world.
